In planning the 2020 Annual Meeting, the CBBS board has been considering ways to meet member's educational needs while balancing personal health and safety. To this extent, the board has decided to cancel the in person meeting for 2020. Please mark your calendar for June 25-26, 2021 in Santa Clara for the 2021 Annual Meeting. CBBS staff will be reaching out registered attendees and exhibitors regarding refunds soon.

CBBS remains committed to providing quality education for our members and is working diligently to provide this training virtually. Information about forthcoming virtual training will be coming soon.

On behalf of CBBS we’d like to thank you all for your continued support of our organization in these uncertain times. One thing that is certain is the dedication and commitment the volunteer leadership and staff have to continue to serve our members. CBBS is open for business but our staff is working remotely in compliance with Governor Newsom’s orders. Although we hope not, members may experience a slower response over the next few weeks.  For optimum service and to increase clarity for our staff, an email in place of a call is better. You can best reach us at Thank you for your support! Stay safe and healthy.

CBBS's mission is to educate, develop, and inspire healthcare professionals in transfusion medicine and cellular therapy to improve practice and patient outcomes.

CBBS works to achieve these goals through:

  • Regional Seminars, held in Northern and Southern California, for nurses, donor technicians, donor resource professionals, laboratory technicians, medical technologists, clinical laboratory scientists, quality assurance professionals, compliance staff, administrators and physicians.
  • The Annual Meeting, complete with vendor exhibits and participation, which affords attendees an opportunity to meet with their peers in an informal, relaxed environment and attend quality seminars in all areas of Transfusion Medicine.
  • Committee activities, focusing on issues affecting staff working in various areas of blood centers and hospital transfusion services and safety/compliance.
  • Plus, the CBBS website, Education Fund, award presentations and more!
