Website Troubleshooting
PROBLEM: Link is not working or gives an error message

The usual reason for these broken links is that the page has been removed or deleted on the destination website after it was first entered on the CBBS website page. Unfortunately this happens not infrequently as websites become reorganized; this occurs especially with corporate websites and news sites. With the latter it is common practice after a certain period of time to move a page containing a news item to an archived section. For sites like this, especially with news items that are unlikely to be of enduring value or interest, it is our policy not to archive the link on our Fastbreaking News table of contents pages.

To enable us to identify broken links, we utilize link checking software that is scheduled to regularly scans links within our site, and provides detailed reports of any broken links. We promptly investigate these links and correct them where possible, as described above.

We also rely on visitors to the CBBS website to bring such problems to our attention by contacting the Webmaster. She will do her best to resolve the problem by searching for a new link or deleting the broken link from the affected page. When this is done, a notation to that effect is added at the bottom of the page.

We appreciate your cooperation in helping us to maintain the integrity of the CBBS website and its usefulness to all who depend on it.
