Centralizing patient blood typing and antibody screening test data
The Editors think that colleagues may find the information in the Transfusion article by MacIvor, D et al. Enhanced detection of blood bank sample collection errors with a centralized patient database to be of interest and to extend the discussions listed below:
What do blood bank colleagues do to assure that pre-transfusion test results are compared with historical records, to detect errors in ABO/Rh testing and the presence of alloimmunization, in order to prevent hemolytic transfusion reactions due to ABO or other alloantibody incompatibilities?
