Guidelines for acceptable levels of outdating and wastage?

The manager for the blood bank at a hospital in the Sunshine State writes: "What guidelines are people using for acceptable levels of outdating and wastage of red cells, FFP and Platelet products?" She adds that she is particularly interested in usage rates for autologous red cells.
