What factors influence the decision to switch to tubeless techniques for compatibility testing?

An e-Network Forum member is preparing a brief presentation for AABB about the decision factors for selecting tubeless techniques, and she would like input from the e-network forum. She believes that one decision factor may be a shortage of technical staff which has served in some labs as an impetus toward the introduction of new technology. She knows that cost may also be a decision factor. The inquiring member realizes that blood bankers have historically been very conservative about changes, so whatever input the e-Network can provide would be very interesting and helpful. Please provide as much detail as you can.
