The Hyatt Regency

The CBBS Annual Meeting has preferred rates for all attendees. We strongly encourage you to stay at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco which helps us offset the costs of meeting space, exhibit hall rental, food and beverage and many other costs associated with the annual meeting. These are sizeable costs to CBBS that must be covered. Attendees who stay in other hotels do not help offset these expenses, which puts CBBS at risk of financial penalties due to low sleeping room bookings. Your Hyatt reservation helps to keep our annual meeting fees reasonable, which is a benefit for you and your fellow CBBS members. Thank you.

2012 CBBS Annual Meeting Hotel - Update from the Board

With the 57th CBBS Annual Meeting in San Francisco rapidly approaching, we are excited about the number of people already registering and planning on staying at the meeting hotel, the Hyatt Regency Embarcadero. The Hyatt Regency is both beautiful and optimally located near the waterfront. The room rates are highly competitive with San Francisco hotels, and attendees who book their rooms at the Hyatt will receive free in-room Internet access.

Like many hotels around the country and in San Francisco, the Hyatt Regency has been in negotiations with the local hotel workers union and has favorably resolved many of the their requests. Sporadic organizing efforts do occasionally take place at this and other hotels. Based on discussions the CBBS Board of Directors had with hotel management at the recent January 2012 Board meeting, the Board is confident that the hotel has robust, well thought-out plans for conducting business as usual, and providing a welcoming environment for the numerous professional societies that hold events at the Hyatt.

The CBBS Board thanks you for attending the 2012 CBBS Annual Meeting, and, as so many registrants have already done, for making the Hyatt Regency your hotel of choice.

See you in April!

2011-2012 CBBS President
