Web Hosting is a very power intensive industry. It requires many servers, routers, and monitors - all running 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. There are also heating and cooling requirements to maintain optimum temperatures, as well as humidity control systems and lighting.
Our web host provider, MacHighway has partnered with Renewable Choice Energy to provide their servers, network centers, and offices with electricity generated by wind power. This doesn't mean if the wind stops blowing our site goes down, but instead MacHighway has purchased credits from wind energy producers to ensure that there is enough wind power added to the power grid to replace what they use to power their entire business.
